“Internal Vent Continually Runs We just remodeled our kitchen and installed our brand new just out of the box SMH9187ST. (Bought it in 2010). Its been in for a week. But we only used it 2 days. Today, the internal vent that cools after microwave is used has started to continually run. It is not cooking but the light is on and the internal vent is running. How can I turn off the internal vent. Does it have anything to do with the sensor?”

The microwave fan in the SMH9187 is designed to run automatically to cool the internal components, and it is not unusual for it to turn on as needed, particularly if the cooktop or oven under the microwave are being used. If yours is running continuously for no apparent reason, however, I would suggest calling 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you. - Ms. Samsung
