A:Answer Not really. The Chromebook, especially the low-end ones, are designed to use cloud-based applications. In other words, if you can't get an internet connection via WiFi, then it is pretty useless - depending on what it is you want from your Chromebook. As I've seen mentioned quite a few times here, Google Documents is a fine replacement to Microsoft Word, and you can set it up to use it offline. I use my Chromebook mainly when I'm writing, so I like the fact that all I can really do with it while offline is write. It limits distractions and I am more productive that way.
