• Thanks so much for asking, mjod! This model will function as a normal refrigerator without a Wi-Fi connection. This means that standard functions such as cooling and ice production do not require an internet connection. However, any of the added SmartThings features, such as monitoring the refrigerator from your smart device, will not be available without the Wi-Fi connection. ^Jecca

• Connecting it to the SmartThings app is optional. It has a control panel inside the fridge to control the temperature.
