“How close does the water source need to be to the refrigerator unit to allow it proper usage? Is there an additional cost to install”

• I don't know that there is any limitation on the distance you can run a line to the refrigerator. My delivery and installation were free. I think it was because I bought during the Presidents Day sale.

• I would say it would have to be within 2feet of the water supply, and yes installation will be extra.
