A:AnswerYes, the refrigerator requires a water line for the ice maker. You can purchase the water line installation kit from your retailer. We recommend using a kit that contains copper tubing and a 6 mm (1/4”) compression nut. Installing a Water Filter for the ice maker is optional. Thank you for choosing Samsung! ^Lena
A:AnswerI am including a link to the user manual starting on page 15 to support your concerns on installation requirements (https://bit.ly/3dM1Zn3). Thank you for choosing Samsung. ^Lena
A:AnswerNo, but a manually filled ice cube tray could be placed in the freezer so that the water could freeze into ice. Otherwise, the ice maker requires a water line hookup to a potable source of water.

A:AnswerI noticed this as well when the fridge was first installed. Apparently this is the warm up process that it goes through (perhaps displacement of heat as it cools off?). It lasted for several hours but by the next day it was no longer warm and this has not happened again. I've had this fridge over a month now.
