Questiondoes this model have hidden hinges?You do not state whether or not this model has hidden hinges and yet, in your specs you give the height as measured with and without hinges.

- Answer The Energy Saver feature disables the low-wattage heater in the strip between the refrigerator doors of the RF217ACPN, which helps to evaporate condensation. If you live in a very dry climate and do not have an issue with condensation, then there's no harm in using the Energy Saver function; just press the button on the control panel to turn Energy Saver on. Questiondoes this model have a door alarmso far we have not heard a door alarm even though the manual says it has one...we've had the main board replaced when I called Samsung about it and still no alarm...not even sure what it's suppose to sound like...everyone I've talked with, including the service person doesn't seem to know if we're suppose to have one even though it's listed as one of the features

- Answer Thanks for the question. The RF217ACPN does have a door alarm to alert you if the door is left open, though it wouldn't start beeping until it detects it's been open for more than just a few minutes. If the wires that connect the door sensors are not connected properly, the alarm may not sound. This happens on occasion if the door was removed during delivery and installation of the refrigerator, though I would suggest checking this connection regardless of whether the doors have been removed. To check the wiring harness connections, use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws and lift the hinge cover. Illustrated instructions can be found on pages 11-13 of the User Manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for easy reference. - Ms. Samsung

- Answer The RF217ACPN measures 32-1/4" wide by 68-5/8" high without hinges (69-3/4" high with hinges) by 26-1/4" deep without the doors. Samsung recommends leaving at least 2" above and behind the refrigerator as well as 1" on each side to allow sufficient air flow for the cooling system to operate properly and most efficiently. If either door will open into a wall or cabinet, you'll need at least 3-3/4" clearance on that side so the door can open at least 90º to allow the crisper drawer to open fully. Based on these dimensions, the minimum cutout needed for this model is 34-1/4" wide (or 37" with an adjacent perpendicular wall) by about 71" high by 28-1/4" deep. The depth assumes the front edge of the refrigerator case will be aligned with the cabinet fronts. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

Questionis the botton door a freezer and is it a drawer that pulls straight or does it hinge on the right or left?

- Answer The RF217ACBP has a bottom freezer drawer that pulls straight out using the EZ Open freezer drawer handle. The freezer compartment also has an Auto Pull-out upper freezer drawer that holds the ice cube bin which is filled automatically by the built-in icemaker. - Answer The freezer drawer in the RF217ACPN French Door has a large main storage bin and an Auto Pull-out upper freezer drawer which is great for organizing frozen items.
