• Hi Steve! If you do not plan on connecting the HW-S40T Soundbar to your new 55" Samsung TV via Optical, your soundbar should be placed within 32 feet, and in line of sight of the TV. This will provide you with the best Bluetooth performance. ^Gina

• I have a 32 inch Samsung tv in the other room and yes it probably would be able to connect to it.
