A:AnswerI have not tried to use without the sound bar. We bought this specifically because it was one of 2 rear speaker sets that went along with our sound bar. I would have to say NO this will not work unless you have the sound bar to link to.

A:AnswerI see that Best Buy said that these two speakers are compatible. I have a different model sound bar (HW-Q80R) and I am using the wireless Sub. Yes the sub does work using he SWA-9100S. Just a note the SWA-9100S does not push out much volume. You may want to think about getting mini amps to push each speaker as I did per suggestions on youtube. Hope this helps.
