What does 6.1 mean? null

It really breaks down the discrete channels...there are 6 separate audio channels plus 1 subwoofer. A 6.2 system would have 2 subwoofers. A typical system a few years ago would have been a 5.1 where you had left, center,right front...left and right rear (hence the 5) and 1 subwoofer... Hope this makes sense..

6.1 means 6 speakers (usually 2 front, 2 mid and 2 rear) plus 1 subwoofer, 6.1
