I would say yes but you would need to have an electrical outlet near buy or extension cord. Both the sub woofer and the sound bar need to be plugged in at the same time. As for the sound, I can hear my TV outside my house and all over my house if I turn it up, so your room shouldn't be a problem. I have mine plugged to my Vizio 55"4k high resolution tv.
