Does this turn on and off automatically with the TV? null

Yes it can be programmed to do just that..

Mine turns on when I power the TV on, but doesn't turn off when I power the TV off. It does, however, turn itself off after a period of inactivity so it's the next best thing. I'm using a Samsung tv, not sure if that makes a difference

yes it does, it takes a few minutes to shut off automatically. as long as you have optical digital cable plug in from sound bar to tv.

I have a Samsung smart tv. The sound bar turns on when I turn on tv. I have to turn off sound bar when turning off tv. Not a big issue as far as I am concerned.
