Yes IF you have a Samsung Smart TV. You can use your TV remote to power on your TV and the sound bar+subwoofer automatically turns on as well. It also works when you turn your TV off as well. You honestly don't even need to use the remote it came with unless you want to switch through the different setting modes.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I used an HDMI cable and the HDMI ARC connection on my TV..It does turn off and on with the TV. I do not turn the sound bar off separately. I use one remote to control both and it works simultaneously. I have a Sony tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. I set this sound bar up with a Vizio 4K chromcast TV using the optical cable. It turns on / off with the DirectTV remote. Volume works with the Directv remote too after setting up / changing the audio setting for it. Looks and sounds great.
