I would believe so, but it more depends on your DirecTV controller itself and if it can control the soundbar. You'll have to research that on the remote set up

Yes. Just go into the Directv menu section. Select - Settings & help, settings, remote control, program remote, add or change audio device, choose Samsung and model. Done. Works great and eliminates need for additional remote.
