“Hi, My Soundbar for some reason when connecting the optical cable, I no longer see the red light shining through it. Could anyone advise why that is the case? I've only had this for half a year, no way for the cable to be damaged already.”

Once I figured out the proper configuration of the optical cable connection with my Samsung HDTV... everything is working properly and the red light stopped shining. Maybe that red light is really a fault light? Anyway, I have no red light shining and everything is working great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Optical: If the light isn't coming out of the cable with one end plugged into the TV, then it's nothing to do with the HW-T540 soundbar. It's either a bad cable, or the TV isn't outputting the signal. There may be a setting in the TV where you have to enable the optical output instead of TV speakers. Samsung TVs have this feature. ^Patty
