Yes - this microwave has three options: 1) vent on top microwave - factory defailt packaging 2) vent to back of microwave - easy rotation instructions 3) indoor venting - need to ensure filter is properly install. If you are good at following installation instruction, this would be very easy to determine what you need for your kitchen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The SMH2117S Over The Range Microwave should be installed so the front of the microwave extends out from the cabinet by a couple of inches. The recirculating vent is hidden at the top front of the Microwave, venting the filtered air at about a 45-degree angle back into the room. In addition to blocking the vent, installing the unit flush with the cabinet would hinder the door from opening properly. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
