Yes but the fan/filter, and lights are on the bottom and would be blocked.

However, it is not meant to sit on a shelf, but rather should be mounted to a wall beam.... I wouldn't recommend it if there's not a cut-out in the stainless steel shelf for the ventilation. On over-the-stove microwaves such as this one, there's a air-intake vent on the bottom of the microwave. On microwaves that are meant to be set on countertops, there is no such vent. However, on this model, there is such as vent. Covering it over by setting it on a shelf is not a good thing. These microwaves are meant to attach to the wall, NOT sit on a shelf. Hope this helps in your purchase decision....
