• Any speakers would plug directly into the computer (into the regular 1/8" headphone jack) and have no interaction whatsoever with the monitor. The monitor and speakers are totally 100% independent of each other.

• speaker plug in is usually on the back on the computer CPU, not on the monitor. Hope that helps.

• Hey, Phyllis. The sound is usually produced through your PC, laptop, or whichever device you connect to the monitor. This unit uses the HDMI to transmit sound. Additionally, if using the regular VGA computer input you can use the 3.5mm input jack to input sound into the monitor. Alternatively, you may also connect sound directly from your PC to external speakers as well. I hope this was helpful. Have a great day.
