Hi Remodeler, Whether the Stainless Platinum finish appears lighter or darker than real stainless depends in large part on the room's lighting and angle of view of the real stainless steel surface since it is metallic and catches/reflects light differently than the painted/coated finish of the Stainless Platinum.
