“Why/what is the difference between door open and door closed depths with the RF23J9011SR and RF22K9381SR? I see a 6" difference in how far the door protrudes into the room. What accounts for this?”

Hey Tutu, This refrigerator is a "ShowCase" model. That means the doors have two layers so you can quickly access frequently used items.
