Difference is the showcase door (last year's doesn't have that), along with the metal cooling used in the showcase door and on the back wall of the fridge. It supposedly keeps the door temperature closer to the main fridge body which was a problem in last year's model. Wifi does stupid stuff like alert you if the door is left open. It also does supply diagnostic information if you have a problem and can submit it to Samsung automatically, so that is valuable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The main difference is that this unit has a showcase built into it so you can quickly open the top left panel and the metal cooling feature was added which is supposedly suppose to even out the temperature between the front and back of the fridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I take back my answer that RF23J9011SR is only freezer on the bottom. That is what I believed as told by a salesman today (not Bestbuy another store). He didn't know or he wanted to sell me the newer model. You raise a good question which I tried researching on Samsung page itself and their comparison tool was not helpful at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Although I purchased it today, I dont have it delivered yet. I may have to correct my earlier answer after reading the users manual on line regarding WiFi. Using Samsung Smart Home App on your smart phone (Android or Apple) you can check status or notifications and change settings. This is per manual I downloaded from http://www.samsung.com/us/appliances/refrigerators/RF22K9381SR/AA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By last year's model do you mean RF23J9011SR which looks identical? We saw this at the store and the bottom sections are freezer only. This model allows you to use the right hand bottom section as freezer or refrigerator. No WiFi on this model
