Really handy drawer we put our lunch meat/ cheese/ bacon and sausage there
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The lock is the water filter, not related to the drawer...you should change it every six months so your water doesn't get nasty. The drawer is what I use for butter, cheese, or pretty much anything that you use a lot of...seems to have the same temperature as the refrigerator. I also saw a pic where someone put hor d'ouvres or pies that they made ahead of time and wanted to keep it refrigerated.. Hope this helps

Page 15 has a useful diagram showing all the parts of the refrigerator. The lock you are referring to is used to indicate if the water filter (located in the same area) is fully in place. ^Jecca
