You've asked some great questions, Mellow! While all the water features of this model will use the same waterline connection, you can still choose which features you'd like to use. In fact, according to pages 41-45 of the user manual (https://bit.ly/3jiJv1o) you can turn the auto-fill pitcher and ice maker on or off independently of each other. I can also confirm that this model does have door bins that have been rated to hold a full gallon jug. ^Jecca
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can turn off the water for the pitcher . It will automatically fill if you have it set on that . There’s only one line . As for the gallon yes it fits on the side of the door . We love the refrig !!
