You will need to remove a lot of other parts like door bins, fridge liner etc., if you are eliminating plastic from your life.

Great questions, Mellow! First, I have this link (https://bit.ly/2Xr10Ff) to the user manual for this model. Pages 42-44 discuss how to use the control panel, including how to turn each ice maker on or off individually. Currently the AutoFill Pitcher that comes with this model is the only available pitcher. ^Jecca
