This may have been the model from the previous year. Consumer Reports gave the model a not so stellar rating and Samsung went back and re-did the version for this year. It now has one of the best ratings that CR gives for this product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.We purchased the RF23J9011SR in May 2015 and after 2 and a half years the refrigerator section stopped cooling. They sent someone out and the repair worked for about two months. We've been fighting, since feb 2018, with customer service to have our warranty honored. They have been stonewalling us and hear "we'll call back" all the time. Maybe all of their units aren't bad but their customer service stinks. Hopefully, you'll get lucky and get a unit that works; otherwise good luck.

I was also nervous to purchase any counter depth fridge due to the bad reviews for all makes and models. I am really impressed with everything about this fridge and posted a review about it today.

The Ice Master ice maker in this and other models are designed to produce the maximum amount of ice without leaking or jamming. However, there are a variety of factors that can interfere with the ability of the ice maker to work properly, including installation (leveling in particular), temperature settings, etc. If issues do occur, the User Manual and Samsung's website include a number of tips for resolving them. In addition, the Warranty and the Customer Support Team are available to help. It may also interest you to know that Samsung recently won the JD Power & Associates Overall Customer Satisfaction Award for French Door Refrigerators for 2015, which adds to a strong track record as recipient of these awards for 9 of the past 11 years (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014...and now 2015).
