The lifetime of your filter is directly proportional to the ussage. Depending on the model it could be 6 months, 1 year or X amount of gallons, whichever occurs first. I have to change mine every 6 months, and as a matter of fact when is time to change you will notice a change in taste.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The water filter in the RF261BEAESR and other Samsung refrigerators is designed to last about 6 months (see page 12 of the user manual, as shown in attached photo). However, if your household uses more than the average amount of water each month, or if your water supply has a high level of impurities such as mineral deposits, the filter may need to be changed more frequently. Thank you for the question, Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern about the water filter in your Samsung refrigerator. I understand you want to know how long are the water filters supposed to last because the light is on your filter after 4 months of use. We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. We are here to help. We recommend that you replace the water filter every six months. The refrigerator's water filter light will let you know when those six months are up and should be reset after changing the filter.
