Thank you for reaching out and we hope you are in good health. That is a great question. I had the liberty of testing that out with our own refrigerator, and you can close either one first. The insulator found on the left door will "trigger" to close when both doors are closed.

You can close any of the doors in any order it does not make any difference

Answer

Each door moves open and closed on there own. The one has a mechanism that slides behind the other door without needing the other door to move out of the way. It works beautifully.
