A:AnswerHi Kate, the French door refrigerator is not like a kimchi refrigerator. The kimchi refrigerator aims to be colder, with more consistent temperature, more humidity, and less moving air than a conventional refrigerator. This is a conventional refrigerator that has the freezer on the bottom. ^Rosi
A:AnswerThe only way you'd notice the ice maker is by finding the ice tray on the left side of the upper shelf in the freezer. It's completely removable, it's not attached to anything, it just sits there on the shelf.. You can remove it and forget about the ice maker ever existing.. Then you can put a small ice cube tray anywhere in the freezer and get you ice made that way. In fact, that's how we were making ice for the first few days before I got around to connecting the waterline. Just make sure you turn off the ice maker circuitry (left most button at the top, where all the control buttons are). I don't think it does anything w/o the waterline connected, but it just feels right to have it off..
