No filter in mine and icemaker works fine. It was not included in the original design.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Since this fridge model only has an ice maker (and not a built in water dispenser), there is not a "slot" to put a water filter in the fridge. If you want, you can place a water filter between the fridge water inlet line (plastic material) and the copper tubing from your home plumbing. Hope this helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes we've been using for 9 months without a filter.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will, as the filter would be an external add-on, between the water supply and the fridge. HOWEVER, installing a simple charcoal in-line filter will do two things for you. 1. The ice will taste better and not have that flakey water-scum that will form from the hard water. 2. The small particles of sand, rust, etc that is in your tap water will be filtered out and not plug the small orifices inside the icemaker controls. Bottom line is that you should install an inline filter. I suggest installing one of the water filter kits underneath your kitchen sink, then feeding both a drinking water spout mounted on the sink, as well as feeding the ice maker in your fridge. The small cartridges are very easy to change and life is a lot better with filtered cold water.... :)
