Thank you for the question. There are a number of variables that can effect the time needed for the ice bin to be filled, so following are some tips and guidelines for you to use in determining if your RS265TDRS is working properly. If you have just installed your refrigerator, it can take as much as 24 hours for the freezer to reach the temperature necessary for ice production to begin, depending on the difference between your room's temperature and the set temperature; the temperature of the food that's been added to the refrigerator and freezer during the cooling process; the humidity level; and how often the door is opened while cooling. The freezer temperature must be 5ºF or lower for the ice maker to work properly, and Samsung recommends setting the freezer temperature at -2°F. Once ice is produced, you should throw away the first three batches (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice is being made from clean water. Your Samsung refrigerator should produce about 120 ice cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications. If your freezer is producing less than that, make sure the water valve is turned on and consider changing the water filter, since a clogged filter could effect water flow and ice production. To speed up ice production, press the Power Freeze button on the control panel. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically. - Ms. Samsung
