Thank you for the question. Since the RS261MDBP uses a bar-style display to regulate the temperature, it would be interesting to know what type of thermometer you're using to measure the temperature in your freezer, and where you're placing it. The temperature can vary from one location to another, and the placement of household thermometers may not be the most accurate way to check the temperature in your freezer. I would suggest calling 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether service will be necessary to determine if your cooling system or control panel are functioning properly.
