Yes there is an option. The product's manual can be found on this product page by selecting "From the Manufacturer", then scrolling down to the bottom of that page that appears. Based on the pdf file on page 43, you can select the Ice Maker / Filter Reset * button inside the fridge and depending on the model Type, below are the instructions. Type A model The ice maker has 3 indicators to indicate its operating status. • first indicator : You can start or stop the fridge part ice maker. • second indicator: You can start or stop making cubed ice. • third indicator: You can start or stop making ice bites. Type B, C model The ice maker has 2 indicators to indicate its operating status. • first indicator: You can start or stop making cubed ice. • second indicator: You can start or stop making ice bites.

Seems a waste of space to face have ice in the door and a huge part of the freezer occupied by waiting ice also.
