The answer given by Samsung rep and other person would seem to be bogus or else Samsung has truly regressed in technology in the past 12 years. When the fridge is set up and leveled at the front, the wheels no longer have full weight making it difficult to roll the fridge out to access the typical water supply valve located on the wall behind the fridge... Could potentially damage your floor if you try without first backing off the levelling adjusters which are under front bottom edge, which is likely not possible for some people to perform. I particularly find the Samsung explanation disturbing because the 12 year old Samsung fridge this one replaced was a simple counter clockwise twist to remove and twist clockwise to replace the filter. No need to turn off water supply was directed, and never a problem for estimated 20 or so filters changed.... I have not yet reached the need for first filter change but definitely report how it works out when I do, cause it doesn't make sense for Samsung to make this procedure more difficult.... Or perhaps it could be true to provoke possibly more service calls???
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We recommend turning off the water supply to the refrigerator when changing the water filter. Turning off the water will release the water pressure, which makes the process easier. Thank you for being a Samsung customer! ^Lena
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. The refrigerator will have to be pulled out and water supply valve closed.
