I'm not a plumber, but do won this unit I don't know where this would be installed or how. The ice maker is actually located in the refrigerator portion of the unit (so that it can come out of the door). Maybe you could mount one in the bottom freezer but I doubt it. It does generate plenty of ice, so you could always keep a spare bag if you are worried about running out.
