I agree with you on this issue, I found that the crushed ice is barely crushed as well. The LG I used to own did a better job, but all of the refrigerators seem to have been redesigned and who knows how they crush ice now. As much as these refrigerators cost there should be an additional setting for it to make snow cones.

They make crappy cloudy ice that melts almost instantly because of the "trapped air"-which is only partially true. Cloudy ice also comes from minerals in the water. Pure water freezes first and pushes the minerals and air bubbles to the center. Its got little to do with "flushing the filter as directed" or "air in the line from the home plumbing"-which doesn't happen. With the filter that is used (Expensive OEM) the "minerals" should be gone. This ice is soft, and melts quickly. I make my own ice for cocktails in the freezer with spring water, defeating the purpose of why I bought this mode. Again as others have stated...for the price we pay for these refrigerators they should have make a better product that makes solid ice, proper door storage and the like. As one other contrubuter mentioned...there should even be a sno-cone setting for what we pay" I will never buy another Samsung product if i can help it. I regret this purchase every time I open the door, or make a cocktail. Same went for my washer I purchased at the same time. That one died in less than 5 years. They did give me $750.00 after they mothballed that model for many issues and 4 or 5 service calls. Obviously I didn't go back to Samsung for the next one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you read in the manual it states why the ice is cloudy. It has to do with the way the water goes through the filter. It gets oxygenated. I haven't had any issues with the crushed ice.

While it isn't unusual for the crushed ice to vary somewhat in size, it may be influenced by factors such as how brittle the ice is when it passes through the blades. I would suggest checking the temperature to make sure the fridge and freezer are set to the recommended 37ºF and 0ºF, respectively.
