I cut the cord and the Mohu works well. Be aware that how far you are away and line of sight could make a difference in how strong a signal you receive. I'm about 3 miles away and when the leaves are gone from the trees I can see the lights flashing on a couple of the broadcast antennas. the Mohu works for me.
