This is a regular tv with added features. If you don't want to use the added features it still works. I am using mine with a outdoor antenna and it works just fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. There is a digital tuner in the device. You can hook up your cable box or just plug the cable into the back of the unit (depending on how you actually get device) and then do a channel search and voila! You've got network channels.

Just beware that the local broadcast channels that are received digitally look great but all other regular cable channels are not as great quality pictures as they should be on a flat screen HDTV.
