A:AnswerOur is 1 day old and the noise is awful. It vibrates the liquids inside of the refrigerator and the wood floors on our main level. I'm not sure if ours is defective or not, but it is very unacceptably loud.
A:AnswerSeriously, went to samsungparts.com for black stainless steel touch up paint, only item available was for a manual. Seriously? After less than one year this finish should not be peeling. Ughhhh
A:AnswerThanks for your interest in Samsung 4-Door French Door Refrigerators. The RF28HMEDBSR is one of the newest additions to Samsung's line-up and features the Ice Master ice maker that is designed to produce up to 10 lbs of ice per day (under ideal conditions). The RF4287HARS has an earlier version of the ice maker which can produce up to 6.6 lbs per day.
Other upgrades that have been integrated into the RF28HMEDBSR include more efficient HE LED lighting (the refrigerator also has side lighting); Ice Blue display LEDs which match the rest of the 2013-14 Samsung kitchen appliances; an improved Smart Divider in the Flex Zone Drawer to enable better use of the space; and a 10-year warranty on the compressor. Both models use quiet and efficient Digital Inverter-type compressors, though the RF4287HARS warranty is for 5 years on the sealed system, which includes the compressor.

A:AnswerMine didn't. It filled up the bin, then went into the door, then spilled out of the in-the-door ice area all night until we found it the next morning-melted. It happened twice. The first time we thought the fridge broke down. After talking to friends who had that problem, we realized it was just a back-up of ice.
A:AnswerHi Bobarino,
The doors, drawers and handles on the RF28HMEDBSR can be removed to fit through narrow doorways. Without the handles this model is only 34" deep, so it may not be necessary to remove the doors and drawers to clear your 35" opening.

A:AnswerThe filter is included and a whole lot easier to change out than our old one that required the unit to be rolled out to expose the rear. This filter is accessible from the front, inside.
We declined the water line which was offered at a reasonable cost. Used the one from our previous refrigerator.
A:AnswerAfter changing the filter in your RF28HMEDBSR, you'll need to reset the Filter Indicator light by pressing the Alarm button for at least 3 seconds. The light doesn't reset itself automatically.
Regarding the water temperature, the water from the dispenser should be cooled to the refrigerator temperature. If the water is not cool, it may be because at least some of the water from the refrigerator's reservoir, which holds about two liters, has been dispensed. Each time water is dispensed, the tank refills with water that is the temperature of the water in the source pipes. Therefore, even if you used only half of the chilled reservoir supply, the temperature of the next glass after the tank is topped off will be somewhere in between the source water and the fridge temperature.
If you'd like your water to be colder than the temperature of the refrigerator, you may need to add ice.
Thank you!

A:AnswerI had the same concern and so when the installer was present, I showed him the "difficulty" in opening and closing the upper doors. That is actually by design. The force required to open and close, seals the doors better than the regenerators that "seal" themselves. I personally prefer this as another refrigerator we owned "self-sealed" and didn't do a very good job of sealing. For my money, I'll take the little extra force to assure a good seal.

A:AnswerYes, the RF28HMEDBWW ice maker and water dispenser will work without a filter installed. However, please be aware that Samsung recommends having an external filtration system in place to help prevent mineral deposits and debris from clogging the water lines.

A:AnswerI'm sorry to hear the drawers in your RF28HMEDBSR have broken. Please call 888-BEST BUY or 800-SAMSUNG for assistance ordering replacements.
- Ms. Samsung
A:AnswerNothing you do will fix this problem. Bestbuy has replaced our entire icemaker on this Samsung fridge three times!! Now they are going to replace it a fourth time. We're tempted to sell it to someone else and let it be their problem - hopefully a Bestbuy, Geeksquad or Samsung employee. If we can't find one of those we'll just throw it away. We don't want anyone else having to deal with it.
A:AnswerThe first part of that sounds about right. These systems are passive cooling systems. Water is basically cooled in a tube that is running through a cold section of the refrigerator. The water inside the tube will be cold until you run that water out. Then the new warm water in the tube takes time to cool down again. These are basically casual use coolers.
If you are getting hot water after the cold water comes out, that tells me the water source is incorrectly connected to a hot water connection. This will also adversely after how much cold water is dispensed.
A:AnswerThanks for the question. The RF28HMEDBSR does have a removable insert in the water dispenser reservoir. Please call 800-SAMSUNG for assistance replacing this part.
