That all depends on your TV options/capabilities. My LG 6300 series TV has the option to Output to the Soundbar ONLY, TV ONLY or BOTH. If you have a newer TV, I’m sure it’s an option in your Sound Settings Hope that helps...

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.That would probably depend on your TV, I have a Samsung curved and it does not allow to do both at once, but my vizio will so I think your question should be directed towards others who own your same TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Don't think so - the soundbar would have to have a separate remote. Didn't get the theater experience I was looking for from the soundbar and sub woofer so I took it back and purchased a Polk system which has a separate remote and you can also turn on the TV speakers with the TV remote. You get what you pay for but I couldn't tell by the sound that I was getting anything out of the samsung soundbar system I purchased.
