• I do not think it is absolutely necessary. But, Samsung TVs, mine included, have pretty terrible speaker systems. I would highly recommend a soundbar for any Samsung tv. This is a good one because they sinc up wirelessly.

• You can use the TV without a soundbar. There are built in speakers behind the TV but they will never have the range that a soundbar provides. For the best audio experience, you will need a soundbar or a stereo receiver connected to your TV to get the highs and lows.
