“We have a Whirlpool gas stove top similar to this one with gas knobs that have all broken twice in the 7 years we've owned it. The knobs broke where they push onto the gas valve. What makes these any different? They look very similar.”

It appears the Samsung Ambassador didn't see that the question was referring to your Whirlpool appliance and not Samsung. They've answered it without reading for understanding that you were trying to see why Samsung would hold up where Whirlpool has not.
