Unfortunately, I had the same problem! Since our cabinets were already custom-made to fit the ovens' descriptive measurements, they project out one-half of an inch and are not securely screwed to the wall. Grrr! The appliance installer told me that the ovens were too heavy to tip over and were safe. I don't like it, but I only notice it on one side, and that side is basically in a blind corner.

The reason it requires an additional inch from the back is to give space for the wiring connection since the cord should be directly connected to the junction box. Have a great day! ^Chrystel
