“Convection on FX710BGS doesnt seem to be working I bought a new Samsung range and at no time during the convection cycle can i hear the fan going. Is it that quiet? How do I test it myself as I live 3 hrs away from a service centre”

Thanks for the question. It isn't unusual for the fan to be so quiet that you don't hear it. The fan is also designed to turn off when you open the oven door, but the turning blades may be somewhat visible for a few seconds as you open or close the oven door with the oven light on. Another indication that the Convection feature is working is whether items are baking evenly when placed on the middle rack. - Ms. Samsung
