Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Doogie! Depending on which type of ice maker your model has it will either have an optical sensor that detects when ice has piled too high, or a mechanical arm that is pushed upwards when the ice piles high enough. ^Jecca
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.There isn't one. I had a samsung before this one what we do is let it fill the ice bucket and then turn off the ice maker until we need more. It was my only con on my old one because if it overflowed when you opened the drawer it would drag along the bottom of the ice maker and rip out the wiring. Happened twice so we just stopped using it. I will say on this one there is more space above the bucket so i think the ice won't reach the bottom of the ice maker it would fall over the edges of the tray first.
