I know. I want a Samsung French door and they are ALL too tall to replace my 30 year old side by side. I have expensive custom cabinets and the one over the refrigerator can not be moved up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It was designed so that the top will be in front of the cupboard above so that it will fit a standard opening but will be about 8 inches in front of the cupboard with about a 1 inch height overlap. So to summarize measure 8 inches out from your cabinet and 1 inch up - right under the cabinet door. I had to adjust the cabinet door to get it to open.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I do not have a custom kitchen but this fridge fits fine. I do have cabinets above it like most kitchen designs but they do not stick all the way out over the appliance space so there is plenty of room for the hinges to stick up and the cabinets can still open if i choose to use them. You may just have extremely large cabinets but most people do not. I would still recommend measuring both the height of space you will need from the flush part of the the fridge not the hinges and also the depth of you cabinets to the hinges if your not sure. I have 1/4 in clearance of space from the flush part of the fridge to the top of my cabinets and about a foot of clearance from the cabinet to the hinges so the doors open fine on the cabinets.

Samsung does offer a variety of models of different sizes to accommodate different needs, including heights ranging from 65-3/8" to 72-7/8". At this point in time, this unique 4-door configuration with the Convertible Zone is available only in the taller design. I can't tell you whether the RF32FMQDBSR will eventually be available in other dimensions, but I'm happy to share your request with the appropriate team. - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Makes us short people stretch and the bad tall people put all of the good stuff up there ! Lol ! Actually it is helpful for storage or making that pie to high for the kids to reach . Also remember in the old days higher was better to keep cooling lower and the heat up higher . Also helps with more space to move air around !
