I could never find an on/off. I can only do it by the remote.

Then make sure you have properly set your remote and preset your channels according to the specifications. If you're still having problems contact the Samsung customer support in the no. provided in the manual or google their no. via the Samsung web page online.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have you put batteries in the remote? Press the red button for TV. That should turn it on. Also, there's a button on the right underside of the TV that will also turn it on. It helps to read the manual.

Check your breaker, plug at the wall, and makes sure your television cord is firmly plugged in.
