“Will this cooktop work with a downdraft range hood - 2 inches in depth - behind the cooktop. I can see a device on the back right hand side of the cooktop but can’t tell what it is? thanks”

The device on the right rear is the wifi. If you don't want wifi you can remove it easily and comes with a cover for a finished look. Instructions on how to remove is in the installation manual.
