I'm so glad you asked, jim! This model cooktop comes set up to use natural gas. However, it also comes with a compatible LP (liquid propane) conversion kit that allows users to convert to using propane. Samsung does recommend having a licensed professional perform the conversion due to the risks associate with gas and propane. ^Jecca
