Can I use this if I have a under cabinet 36" W hood? null

No. Not in my case. I bought the 36" because the under cabinet one that I replaced was 36". Unfortunately, when the cabinets were refaced, the laminate made the space too small for the new 36" hood. Now I am stuck with the hood and out about $700. I should have done better research!
