“How much space (in inches) is needed behind the dryer for venting?”

• at least 4-6 inches due to the need for a flexible duct - not thin foil duct. Had the same issue with ours and it worked out well eventually due to the ultimate stacking arrangement we chose.

• The clearance from the back of the washer to a wall is 5.9 inches. This product is washer not a dryer, so it's not vented.
