Hi! The washing machine uses both hot and cold water dynamically in a system called Auto Temperature Control. Automatic temperature control also reduces how much hot water is used by mixing in cold water as much as possible. Different parts of the cycle will use either hot or cold water, or both. For instance, the Warm cycle uses only cold water until the final rinse. Some temperature settings, even those labeled Cold, will still use the hot water line if the temperature goes below 60 degrees Fahrenheit. If only the cold water line is connected when the washer attempts to use the hot water line, the washer will give a water supply error. Thank you for choosing Samsung! ^Lena
